A promise for an open learning space

Terms of Use

MathVoyage is an open learning service for exploring the history and problems of mathematics and leaving your own attempts and notebooks.

Effective and last updated: July 10, 2026

1. Scope and agreement

These terms apply to use of the MathVoyage web service. An account is not required to browse content. By creating an account or using contribution features, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Nature of the service

MathVoyage provides interactive content for education and exploration. We continually fact-check and correct it, but it does not replace medical, legal, or financial advice or professional research verification.

Content and code follow the licenses and contribution rules in the public repository.

3. Accounts and anonymous use

  • Exploration, problem solving, local progress, and anonymous contributions are available without sign-in.
  • An account is an optional feature for cross-device synchronization and long-term editing access.
  • Users must keep their Google account and session secure and must not use another person’s account.

4. User contributions

Users retain their rights in notebooks and problem attempts they create. By choosing public visibility, the user grants MathVoyage a non-exclusive, royalty-free license needed to store, display, index, and share that contribution through the service.

This license is limited to operating and providing the service. If the user chooses delete all during account deletion, the contribution is deleted; if the user chooses anonymous retention, the author link is removed.

5. Prohibited use

  • Posting content that infringes another person’s rights, privacy, or copyright
  • Posting hate, harassment, illegal information, malware, or promotional spam
  • Manipulating recommendations, reports, or accounts; excessive automated requests; or bypassing security
  • Misrepresenting sources or presenting another person’s solution as your own

6. Reports and enforcement

We may hide or delete contributions and restrict account features based on accumulated reports, legal requests, or operational review. When possible, we will explain the reason and how to appeal. A curator pick is not a guarantee of accuracy or recognition of a research result.

7. Changes and availability

Features and content may change as the service improves. We prioritize preserving public URLs and user data, but may suspend features for security, legal obligations, or serious operational risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, liability is limited for temporary interruption of this free service and indirect harm arising from user-posted content. This does not exclude liability caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

9. Account termination and governing law

Users may delete their account at any time in Account settings. The operator may restrict account features for a material breach of these terms or a security risk.

These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. We will first try to resolve disputes through the support channel.

10. Changes and questions

Material changes will be announced on this page before taking effect. For questions, use the Support page.
